What to bring to the Reunion as in personal sundries and how to contribute to the Reunion via Koha

WHAT TO BRING FOR STAYING AT THE MARAE

Please Note:

Tutanekai Marae is alcohol, drug and smokefree

Alcohol or illicit drugs are prohibited from all areas of this marae. There will be a designated smoking area.

Please be aware that descendants from Tutanekai Marae reside very close by and that excessive noise levels from this Reunion will not be tolerated.

Please be aware that any land or property that is not designated for this Whanau Reunion, is out of bounds.

The safe keeping of valuables and personal property is the responsibility of the owner at all times during your stay at the Reunion and no liability will be incurred on the organisers of this Reunion.

Please note that Health & Safety applies to everyone during this Reunion and it is up to everyone attending to make sure that any health or safety risks are either reported or actioned promptly.

  • Please bring your own linen ie: sheets, pillowcases, blankets, towels etc for the duration of this event. On doing this, we save $$ on laundry hire and cleaning.
  • Please bring your own toiletries
  • For those whanau who may be travelling far or from overseas, it would be easier for you to ask whanau living nearby to bring extra bedding for you
  • If you have medication to take during your stay - Please bring your medication for the duration of your stay. If you require special storage - let us know beforehand.

KOHA

Koha is one of the most important aspects of Maoridom. Without koha, our culture will diminish. Therefore, koha toward this Whanau Reunion will be much appreciated in any form and any amount:

  • Money koha (apart from your registration fee) is much appreciated and will be recorded and acknowledged.

$1,000 - Peri & Karen Te Wao (payment of marae use)

$100 - Eddie Te Kahika

$120 - Rosie Te Wao

  • Kai koha is much appreciated. To help us plan well for this Reunion, we would appreciate any phone/txt/emails letting us know what you can koha by means of kai. On doing this, we will be better able to spend what kai money we have for those kai not received by koha. All koha will be recorded and acknowledged.
  • Helping out during the Reunion 'Mahi Aroha' is much appreciated. If you are able to use the cooking machinery in a marae setting, cleaning, kitchen, can run a workshop, karakia, waiata, can run sports, supervise kids, oversee the whare tipuna, oversee the whare kai, MC, photographer, video camera operator, First Aid, facilitator, have disco equipt, have datashow equipt, have spare bedding - and any other areas you can think of....Please do make contact with us now so we can plan and organise with you. All 'Mahi Aroha' will be listed and acknowledged.
